Re: S12l5

I would knock it up with a jbl600.1. PG makes crap now, don't trust them. And if you are not trying to save money, but still don't want to spend an ace load, get ...( http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/products.htm ) oh wait is it dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm.
P.S. It really isn't that powerful.

I also would not match a kicker sub with an audiobahn amp.

usually when i get subs, i try not to match the rms, but get the rms of the amp lower than the rms of the amp so theres no chance the sub can flutter/blow.. but thats jus how i do things lol

Re: S12l5

RMS of the sub lower than the RMS of the amp? Here is a thought for you. I know plenty of people who run amps that are 1000 watts or so and onlly run subs that are lik 800 rms total. I also know plenty of people who run amps that are like 300 watts and subs that can handle 1000. These are the best systems I have heard. It is what I like to call discipline. Knowing how to keep yourself from trying to get that extra little punch out of the sub.

hmm interesting, well most of the systems that sound good to me, are usually one sub, running on a mono amp, or 2 + subs wired in parallel, also using a mono amp... just from what i hear.. i guess i should try for myself, but my friend had a 15 inch alpine type R.. and he got a 500 rms amp, then he had to sell his sub, and he got anther one later, it was only 400 rms, an audiobahn, it blew in a few days, but the magnet was so much bigger, so rms should matter no?

Re: S12l5

RMS matters a lot, but setting the gains right can fix most any RMS matching problem. You should hear my 15" Resonant Engineering sub. It is in a 4 cubic foot ported enclosure tuned to 35hz. It gets about 800watts rms.

Re: S12l5

It's not like it is awesome out of this world, but there are few other companies that are pretty good. I mentioned them in the other threads

Re: S12l5

I generally prefer a mono amp with an equal rating to that of the sub, but you can go higher, gives you more leeway to properly tune
