Bumper change

I have a '74 Nova Custom. I hate the large bumpers. Can I put front and rear bumpers from a '68-72 Nova on my car? How hard would it be to do this?

Re: Bumper change

I'm restoring a 74 hatchback and am running into the same problem. Were you able to find any info out on swapping bumpers?

i think that you can put the 68-72 bumpers on them because i think on yours they just have add-on pieces on the front end that can be taken off to put the other bumpers on them.

bumper change

Yeah I was also thinking about doing this one my 74, so I sent an email off to goodmark industries asking their opinions on a bumper swamp with a 70-72 nova. They said it is possible, but you would have to of course get the front bumper, new wiring harness or convert yours existing since the parking lights would be located in a different location, grill, light bezels and the hood since it would be a little shorter. Let me know if you try doing this because I would really like to do it, but I am not sure if I want to spend that much money on the conversion.

Dont worry about the different harness. The 3 cords for the front blinker dont reach to the hole in the bumper, so u just cut the wires and solder in a longer ones. btw i have 73 front bumper and 74 rear bumper for sale
