Service Engine Soon light on after cold air intake instalation...a little help please

Hi everyone,

Ok...I admit I DIDN"T disconect the negitive battery cable befor starting the project. And yes Chiltons Manual said to. My Bad. But here I am now...I have a '94 Z28 and I installed an SLP cold air intake, by the way very easy installation, clear instructions, and a noticable performance increase throughout the power curve. Great product.

BUT....(isn't there alwasy a "but"?) Now my Service Engine Light is on. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks,

M

did you hook back up all the sensors.. maybe you jiggled one loose somewhere... get a scanner and see what code its throwing and go from there

Disconnect your battery for a few minutes, that's how you reset the check engine light. If it comes back on though you might want to run a scan on it.

Hey Gang,

Problem solved. Thanks for your suggestions. I disconnected the battery overnight, then this morning I carefully checked the sensor connections. In the wireing harness on the MAF one of the little connector prongs was missaligned. I straightened it, reconnected the harness and the batterry and no more Service Engine Light.

By the way...I can not speak highly enough of the SLP Intake.....having a company that works directly with Cheverolet really makes for slick and easy parts and installation. (As you probably know, the addition of SLP products is what makes a late model Camaro into a SS).

Thanks again everyone!
