Thumbs down Chevy window motor

I was wondering if chevy has had any recalls on any of there window regulators, motors. Im a chevy person as much as the next person but this is just getting sick.Every chevy Ive owned that had power windows at least one if not window motor has gone out. 92 chevy silverado both window motors replaced 99 grand prix 2 window motors replaced. Now heres the kicker avalanche owned it 1 week replaced window motor in it. What kind of stuff is that 1 whole week. I didnt do the avalanche one dealer did it but the 92 and 99 vehicles looked to have the same exact motor in it, it looked like it should be in a geo it was so small. I dont know if dodge, ford and all the rest are that small but damn chevy needs to do something with them.

Re: Chevy window motor

Well, my 92 Silverado had to have it replaced as well, but it was 9 years old when it quit, so I can't complain!

The only thing I know to tell ya is to be srue and not hold the button down when teh window is fully rolled up or down.

Re: Chevy window motor

MY passenger side window regulator was replaced a year ago. I was letting the window down and it fell inside the door. I have a feeling the driver side is not far behind, it creaks and pops when its let up and down.

Re: Chevy window motor

I had a 93 Crown Vic with similar problems. Driver's window motor went out first and then the rear driver's side went out a few weeks earlier. The parts are not cheap, but they are of poor quality. On both occasions, the rebuilt motor that I bought failed within a couple of days of being replaced. Yet another trip and time wasted at the parts store!

Re: Chevy window motor

I have a 2000 Chevy 2500. I have have just replaced the motor/regulator in the drivers door. Although I think it was just the motor that was the problem. I like my Chevy trucks but the quality has sure gone down. I took pictures of everything but the files are to large to post. If anyone want's to view them just send me an email and I'll send them for you.
