Unhappy 94 GC brake lights stay on! HELP!!

Once and awhile my brake lights stay on. I don't know why they do, but they do. Sometimes I put my car in drive and step on the brakes a couple of time and then they go off. It could be a couple of days before it happens again. This time they have not gone off and I don't know what to do. Does anyone out there have advice for me. Thanks Help!!

I had this problem too. For me it was as easy as bending back the sensor at the pedal.
Hope that is it.

Re: 94 GC brake light stay on! HELP!!

There should be a small push-button type switch above the arm of the brake pedal. The arm moves away from the switch when you step on the brake-turning on the brake lights and turns them off when you step off the pedal (it hits the switch button.).
Sometimes the mounting on this switch can come loose allowing the switch to get pushed up away from the brake pedal arm so the button doesn't get pushed and the lights stay on.
Tightening the mount on this switch or replacing it should take care of this.
Switches do go bad and stick, too.
