Smile Why won't this car go when I want it to (I NEED POWER)?

Anyone......... I just got a Z34 and I love it. I realize that these are not what one would call "a normal fix it car." I have learnt so much by working on this car. Thank goodness I know a little about cars. Anyway, there is one thing about this I just dont get. No matter how hard I press the accelerator the car would always gradually accelerate at its own pace. In other cars I've been in the car's RPM would rev and the car would get up and go. Its like this cars has got a mind of its own and takes it's time accerating. The RPM does not even rev. Is this how the car is supposed to operate (I have an automatic)? The only way I can impress anyone with this vehicle is if I shift manually from 1 - D, but i don't want to damage my tranny. I gave it a complete tune up and still nothing! Give some advice one how to improve the shifting sequence/rev or what ever.

These cars have an electronically controlled transmision, probably a shift, or PWM solenoid acting up. Only way to tell is to have it scanned and see whats going on in the valve body. It should downshift for you though when operating properly.

Hey I found the problem with the sucky hesitation. The problem was the TPS. I changed it after buying one of those diagnostic thingys from the auto store. I paid 20 pucks for the diagnostic check thing and 18 bucks for the part and my check engine light went off. The auto mechanic wanted to charge me 324 bucks. GEEEESSSS!
