yes. but it's difficult. also, if you're putting guages over it, you should just pull it out and get rid of it. cause if it deploys and hits your passenger in the face, you'll probably kill him. and no I'm not exaggerating. the bags hurt normally. I know from experience. with a hunk of fiberglass and some buages added to the explosion. you're asking for trouble. Think long and hard about it. then when you decide I will tell you how to do it.

You can take it out without deploying it. But I dunno how

alright.. Glad to see you're using your head. There are multiple ways to get the bag out. But be careful because messing around with it can make it deploy and you'll be regretting that for a while. cause the dust in them tastes like shit. Disconnect your battery and take a flat head screw driver and pry up the mat thats on top of the bag. there should be 4 bolts. (one in each corner) they're 12mm if my memory serves me correctly. unscrew them and the cover shouold lift off. the rest is pretty self explanitory. just take off all the stuff that is holding it in there. then glass your cover and everything and screw it back on. you'll probably have to smack it back in there a little bit. but it's not the end of the world. it should go back in without any serious problems. Now granted this is how you do it on a 99 eclipse, so it may be different for you. Just be careful and expect your airbag light to come on. you'll probably have to get it reset. and if you get caught tampering with stock safety devises it's technically "illegal" but I've never heard anything from anyone getting in any serious trouble for it. Good luck
