Thumbs down 89 440 over heating

My 440 is overheating in idle, when i'm on the road fine. I think It could be the fan or the thermo, I'm not too shure where it is located, i think it's near the fire wall on the block. Trying to save money and doing the repairs my self. any tips anybody thanks in advance!!
