Well this is the next one to build.

Just started it today and have just finished cutting all the bits from the *trees* and starting to sand up some bits for painting.
Have to prime the bonnet as this is molded in clear to show the engine when finished. Well take a few undercoats to cover up first.

Being an older kit it has a few more "seem" lines on parts and will take a bit longer then normal. Detail of the engine is good, as is the underneath parts

The body has plenty of lines to sand out too.

Kit will be build straight from the box, no lowering/wheels etc.

Probably go for black or silver for the body colour.

Pics etc will come as i get bits done etc to show.

Just a little hint regarding the wheels, Nismo ones are a pale bronze colour, and look great on the one in GT3. It would look good on a black car and be a little different! I'll see if I can find pics!

I've been searching as well and not come up with much so far. It says to paint them X10 but that almost comes out as a black.
I'm thinking along the lines of TS42 Light Gun Metal which is a very nice looking colour.

I say go for the goldish color on it, since you are painting it black.

Ok Warren! Web searches were fruitless, so I photographed it straight from GT!

The colour is like a darker Titanium silver, so I say go for that as a start and darken it. though you will need to keep the goldish hue to it!
This kit screams out for a big exhaust! Time to use one of those Fujimi specials!

The odd decal looks great on it too, as you can see in the pics!!!

As you can also see, the colour is Pearl Black Metallic, and it would really suit a touch of graphite in the black!

I am off to the paint shop tomorrow to look for a metallic black for my Kure Nismo Skyline, as per my sig!

i'm doing this same kit when i finish my evo. i've already finished priming the body and will start painting the tree pieces soon. mine is going to be gunmetal.

Info: Skyline BNR32 GT-R S-tune in GT3 is the direct copy of the BNR32 in Initial D (The S in S-tune is the initial of the author of Initial D, Shigeno - Note the AE86 SS-Version in the game has more info of this)

I just ordered it from HLJ...their system is still so slow...

UPDATE.

Most of the interor all painted now and looks good.

Started to sand the body to get it ready for primmer. There are mold lines all over this sucka !!!:eek:
The boot has slowed me down as the molding line(never struck this before) is a groove which is to deep to sand out :( . So i've had to fill the line with a small amount of putty and will now have to wait for it to dry before sanding it out.
Rest of the car sand. There is also a very heavy mold line inside the engine bay fire wall which took abit of sanding out.

Just got the windows to mask and paint and the wheels to paint.

Going to paint it black with "Light Gun Metal" wheels.

I don't want to wait for HLJ any longer, is there another source where I can get this kit???

Well i'd love to get my hands on a new Revell Acura Integra Type R that wont be released in NZ for another 2-3 months. May we can do a straight swap.

I'll see if the R32 is still at the model shop here, and you can get back to me and let me know if your keen on the idea.

I've got some unfinished kits. I'll participate if we hold online gathering of the GT-R. (model that is) I need at least three months though. :)

I just checked the status at HLJ, and the skyline is available but in very low numbers. I still have to wait for the modelers carbon decal to be in stock for my order to be ready. There's still a 50% chance I need your help (If someone take those GTRs before me). If you still want Revell ITR, I can get it for you at the shop here. They sell it for 27.30 CND with tax, that's about 39.55 NZD. I'll keep you posted.

The shop down the road sells them for $19.50 US, and I can ship within North America for $4.75 Priority Mail, more overseas. The ITR is $12.00 US, same shipping. Packaging 3-4 models costs very little more to ship!

Well the kit is 99% finished being painted now. Just the boot spoiler/mirrors to do and windows.
Hopefully start some of the assembly of it over the weekend.
Got the body all paint today in black and it looks sweet.
Just needs the final polishing in a week or two.

Just picked this one up this afternoon! Same kit with aftemarket wheels, optional decals, and optional add-on scoops and lights. I got this one to build a street terror with so I wanted the aftermarket wheels. The local hobby shop was out of the stock kit but they have many more of the Group N cars like this one, only $15.79 USD plus $5.00 shipping if you want one!

The Group N looks awesome, but I want the regular one cause that's the with the engine!:D HLJ had it in stock like 2 days ago and I didn't press SEND and now their out of stock again......arrr I hate myself!!

Both the Road and Race car kits have engines though!

They sure do!! The one thing that is completely different about the kits is the interior as the road racer has a bare floorpan and roll-bars, may take some creativity to make it a street interior...

Sounds tempting, BUT I want it to be another Initial D model. Floorpan required!

Well it all finished. :) :) Went together really well. Only slight change i made was to put some mesh into the front to give it a more "real" look.

Very pleased with the outcome of it.

Is that 70's Skyline there missing some wheels???

UMMM good spotting there but it does have wheels. I think that is just a freak reflection in the perspex case.

The wheels are 70's style steel wheels with silver bolts. Will take a closer pic including the wheels this weekend
