tach/radiator problem

i am having an electrical prob with my 95 dohc neon . my tach goes wacky every time fan comes on. also when the tach goes wacky sometimes my speedometer will shut down , the wipers go fast as if i turned them on and my left side turnsingnals comes on but it does not blink. all of these problem only start some times when the tach goes wacky, but the tach goes wacky every time the fan goes on. the minute the fan stops everything is normal. also every once and awhile the fuel pump fuse blows for no reason and my hazards will not work sometimes.any ideas? i checked all solder pads on cluster but thats not it. the only other thing i have noticed is all of the problems i have seem to have all the fuses in the same spot. ( fuel pump fuse , hazard light fuse , rad fan fuse all in the fuse box in the engine bay and one right next to another) any help would be great.

Re: tach/radiator problem

Personally, I would check the wiring of your PDC (the engine bay fusebox) and radiator fans for any breaks, chaffing, grounding out or bad wires. Also, test the relay's in the PDC for the fans.

the other day i checked the fuse box had it all taken apart but i didnt see any bad connections but i did notice that since i was messing with the fuse box my fan takes longer to come on like a normal fan would , my fan was coming on like 2 minutes after i would start my car and only shut off for a minute or so then turn on again .now it wait 10-15 minutes to come on. then goes off and stay off for 10 minutes. when i leave for work my tach would go wacky from the time i left home to the time i got to work ( 20 mins.) now it is good untill i get about 5 mins from work then goes wacky for a min. then stops.

it seems as if i am getting closer to the prob but just not hitting it.

also what voltage or amps should the relay show when i check it with my meter?

Any time you have electronics going wacky check the grounds for your fuse box.... theres one right behing the passenger side headlight that is well known to become loose and cause these wacky problems.... My car did the same thing (wipers came on and off all the time, tach would act up, blinkers come on and off) so I went straight to the ground because that is the only wire i know that is directly associated with all of these things. Most mechanics wanted to replace the computer and the turn signal switch (which you still might have to do becuase grounding for all of these things can also run through the turn signal switch) but luckly all it took was 1/2 turn of a 10mm wrench and I saved myself $500!!!
