anyone seen this warning?Rxspeed 03-24-2004, 04:33 PM yesterday after work i got in my car and started driving home, when i noticed a yellow exclimation point was on in my left cirle gauge, (above the green light symbol) ive seen a symbol similar to this, but it was on my dads audi and that was for esp. knowing that this car did not have esp i took out my manual, and it says that this was a low tire pressure alert. when i got home i took out one of those little tire pressure gauges. and gauged all my tires. all of them read between 28-32. that sounds pretty normal to me, and i checked again this morning, and they all read the same. the alert remains tho, and im starting to get used to it, which isnt safe to get used to seeing an alert when something really bad happeneds. i got the car 4 weeks ago tomorrow, this isnt normal has this happened to anyone else? Jahfari6 02-20-2005, 09:40 PM that is your tire pressure warning light. They are installed on the tires. I had the same thing happen to me. I'm not exactly sure what the right pressure should be, but I filled mine up to low 40's. The tires are rated to 51 psi, but you still want to keep the pressure well under. kelrx8-civicbeater 03-07-2005, 06:29 PM cold temps can also throw it off nordicrx8 03-30-2005, 10:32 AM Yes, mine does that to adn seems to be when the tires are cold. When I get it out on the Autobahn, the light goes out. KaylinSS999 10-04-2005, 08:24 PM I believe the Light also comes on if the pressure is too high. FDTT 10-05-2005, 04:16 PM that is your tire pressure warning light. They are installed on the tires. I had the same thing happen to me. I'm not exactly sure what the right pressure should be, but I filled mine up to low 40's. The tires are rated to 51 psi, but you still want to keep the pressure well under. You need to lower your tire pressures. Your tires shoudl be between 32-35 psi. No more than that. Just because the tire is rated to 51psi does not indicate that the tire shodul be inflated near that. It is more dependant on the vehicle weight distribution. But inflating your tires to 40ish psi you are decreasing the contact patch that your tire makes on the road and therefor decreasing the grip your tires have ont he road. Just a friendly reminder :P mazdatekchubyninja 11-14-2005, 04:03 PM you need to have your tire pressure arount 32-35psi. the light will come on around 28psi. temp cause different reading(expanding+contracting of the air). if you keep driving with the tire light on it will affect your traction control and you have 1-2 more light come on DCS light. you might have a damage tire pressure sensor if you just had your tire changed. the sensor run around $300 drftk1d 11-14-2005, 05:55 PM shit, at that price, i'd just remove the damn thing mazdatekchubyninja 11-15-2005, 10:32 AM yeah but once your DCS OR TRACTION SYSTEM activate it cut power output. then all you have is one slow pos. sorry i just happened to drive one with that problem and it was night and day differance in performance. mazdatech177 11-15-2005, 11:02 AM i thought they already were one slow POS... mazdatekchubyninja 11-15-2005, 11:05 AM yes master, sorry master you stand correct old wise one. mazdatech177 11-15-2005, 11:21 AM ahhh grasshopper... take this grain of rice from my hand before i can close it, then you will be prepared for the trials ahead mazdatekchubyninja 11-15-2005, 11:24 AM yes master, oh no not the valley of pos rx8, oh master i beg you no, may the force be with me. oh god send me a honda to face this evil, yet better send me a the blue devel vette. mazdatech177 11-15-2005, 11:34 AM no 'vette, no honda.... you will be armed only with a 1972 rx4 rotary wagon with an auto-meter monster tach(with shift light) mazdatech177 11-23-2005, 02:58 PM who in the hell is mazdaspeedninja. there could only be oneeeeeeeeeeeeee chubby ninja. mazdatech60 01-23-2006, 09:26 PM and he gets chubbier by the day....... and that rice comment was racist..... mazdatech177 01-24-2006, 11:06 AM he gets a chubby every day??? oh, it wasnt racist... it was ricist driftchick420 10-05-2007, 01:54 PM my fiance drives an 04rx8 and his tire pressure light came on b/c he has 16s on the back instead of 18s which come with the car. he changed them for drifting, but who knows maybe whoever you bought it from put 16s on it, but i think you would be able to tell. but ever since he put those on the back, the light has not gone off Gotian 10-05-2007, 02:58 PM my fiance drives an 04rx8 and his tire pressure light came on b/c he has 16s on the back instead of 18s which come with the car. he changed them for drifting, but who knows maybe whoever you bought it from put 16s on it, but i think you would be able to tell. but ever since he put those on the back, the light has not gone off The original post is a few years old... driftchick420 10-05-2007, 05:04 PM The original post is a few years old... what is that supposed to mean? o i see what ur sayin! lol! 6dmnbag 10-22-2007, 11:57 PM I dont get it, what is that sopposed to mean? senorquitapanties 03-07-2008, 02:14 PM its your TPMS, our cars come with it....not enough air in the tire, but it could also be from the cold.... 6dmnbag 07-03-2008, 11:00 PM you might have a damage tire pressure sensor if you just had your tire changed. the sensor run around $300 I had mine replaced through leschwab and it was only $84 a sensor.
