How to remove Governor.

I have a 5 speed 2002 Mercury Cougar with a 4 cylinder engine. I am curious on how to remove the speed governor from my car. I also am curious about other forums were I can ask the same question.

On new cars, the governor is most likely electronic. This means that if you only take it off you will do more harm than good to your car. Manufacturers hard-wire things like that into the rest of your electrical system so your can't mess with it.
