Need Info for 96 Jetta Head Board Removal

1996 Jetta GLS 2.0L Rockwell International Sunroof

I need to remove the sunroof carrier to replace a broken cable. I have the Haynes Book and have looked at the Bentley Book in the local library. No help on how to remove the 'head board' to get at the carrier.

Anyone have a reference (other than an official VW shop manual) that tells me how to do the job?
