Unhappy 1997 express 4.3L rough idle&stalling

wire harness to fuel tank was shorting and I bypassed harness and direct conected it, changed fuel pump relay, new egr valve, pcv, fuel filter, air filter, plug wires, spark plugs, rotor & distributor cap. Still engine runs rough at idle and wants to stall and does. Dumped four bottles of injector cleaner in it.

About 4 mos. ago at light pressing of throttle at any speed but most noticable at low speeds engine sounds like wanted to stall but dident and it still does it but now she idles rough and stalls. error on egr says" its in circut". Connector looks good where else can i look im lost.Any sugestions.

check the fuel pressure .other possibilities are O2 sensors, sometimes they get lazy but don't set a code, TPS sometimes they get a dead spot and don't set a code, CTS(coolant temp sensor). a shop with a good scan tool should be able to check all these sensors and find out whats wrong with the egr circuit in about an hour.
good luck

IT SOULDS LIKE YOU HAVE A STICKY IDLE POSITIONING VALVE (LOCATED ON THE THROTLE BODY). IF YOUR FUEL PRESSURE IS GOOD, ATLEAST 35psi THIS IS PROBABLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

THE WAY TO FIND OUT IS TO START THE CAR, PULL YOUR PVC VACUME AND IF IT IDLES BETTER, IT IS NOT GETTING THE AI IT NEEDS, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.

OH, THE EGR THING.

CHEVY HAS AN ELECTRONIC EGR. TAKE IT OUT, PULL IT APART, SPRAY SOME WD40 IN EACH OF THE THREE CYLINDERS, WHIPE CLEAN WITH A RAG AND REINSTALL.

i DID THIS WITH MY WIFES CAR AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE CODE READ LOW VOLTAGE TO EGR VALVE #... THERE ARE THREE VALVES TOTAL (DIFFERENT SIZES) AND ONE OF THEM IS HANGING UP. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CLEAN THEM.
