Considering a 2004 Ram 1500.

I am considering a 2004 Ram 1500, but I would like some of your input on the pros and cons. Are they really good vehicles. I sat in one the other day and I really enjoed the feel of it. It felt better than my Chevy Tahoe.
Is the Ram with the Hemi engine really worth buying. I really want to buy one, but I would like to know what everyone thinks of this vehicle.

Dodge 1500 hemi

My son is considering the same choice of pickup, is a loyal GM fan, and had the same experience as you in the Chev. Was very sorry to see no responses to your query. I look forward to reading any you get and passing them on to him.

I can't afford a truck like that, so I can't tell you about them.

Re: Considering a 2004 Ram 1500.

I just bought a new Ram 1500 three weeks ago with the 4.7 and 20 in. wheels. I have always owned Chevy's but I like this truck better than anything I've ever owned. It drives much better than the Silverado I traded in for it. The only complaint I have is the gas millage, but hopfully it will get better.

Talking just bought today

Well I hope thay are as good as thay say I just bought a 2004 ram 1500 4X4 Rummble Bee with the hemi the feel and ride are far better than my 2000 silverado 1500 4X4 4.8 vortec[piston slapper] code 1870 on the tranny 2nd.time both times valve bore gone. This chevy was the worst truck ever.

Just bought an 04 Ram Quad cab with the Hemi. I traded my 96 Tahoe and was considering both the Chevy and the Dodge Quad cabs. The Hemi has more power than the Chevy and is cheaper as well. I felt that they both had a similar ride quality. Biggest downfall I have found is the fuel mileage but the Chevy is only slightly better, based on the window stickers.

1 Bad experience

I loved my new 04 for the first 399 miles. At 400 miles my whole experiece was turned upside down. My transmission failed. I will be with out my truck for atleast one week while the replace my transmission. I have requested that dodge buy back my vehicle. Since then I have recieved the cold shoulder. I don't think my request is unreasonable.
