My guess is that your going for the hot rod look with smaller wheels in the front. I dont know the backspacing of your wheels so I cant say much on the width.
I went with the truck look and matched front and back with 15x7 vette rallyes. Tire size is 225/70R15. Which is a 27.4" tall tire.
I could of fit 235/70/R15 which is a 28" tall tire.
My rims have 4" backspacing. I would prefer a 3" so I put on 1" wheel spacers. Gives a bit wider stance without sticking out past wheel well. Plus I have factory fender flares which help.

So I dont know if you want the same height in front and rear but just wider in the back or what.

My guess is same height or close and wider in the rear.
Again though it all depends on how far in your rim will go in the back. And I am sure you dont want the wheels sticking out.
By the way what year is you S10.
I had a 245/50R16 set of wheels all the way around with almost 4" backspacing and they fit good.

So I will say you might want to check out 245/60R15 in the rear. And then get a skinnier tire for the front but keep the height the same or just under. 215/65R15
BFG Radial T/A is a popular tire (I have a set) and is a great tire for less money. You can go to their website and get tire specs. It will tell you what tires they have and how they will match up. Another words you can see what front tires you can go with. It will give suggested rim size, tire height and width also.
