I have a '00 Passat (2.8L V6 FWD) with 45K miles. Recently started to hear a high pitch whining sound at a certain speed range. I only hear the sound between 30 to 50 mph. Already checked the tires. I don't want to spend a small fortune on diagnostics. Could it be the differential or wheel bearings? Any ideas?
