I bought my Spec V on Saturday

Went to test drive the only dealership with a Spec V and it was a really nice ride. But the color was Aztec Red with Audio and Sunroof options w/floor mats. They also put 1,275 for D.A.P. (sales guy couldn't tell me what the DAP meant). Anyway, the sticker was for 21,000 - OMG
I was guessing I would pay around 18,000 for this car, no chance.
Long story short I tried to talk them down to 19,000 with them giving me 4,00 on my trade in (minus 2,800 that I still owed) but no deal.
The sales manager even sat down and gave me the story about "he is only going to see maybe two more of thes cars on his lot" story. Which probably is true. Then I told them that I really wanted a black one with no options cause that's what I could afford. They told me that most of the cars are coming with sunroof and audio package since it is a limited model and they want most the options on it. Well I called my dad and he told me if that is not the car I want, don't get it. I told them this car was too much and I wanted a black one with no options - and I was fixing to leave the dealership (hint hint), the sales manager said to hold on and he went back to his computer and found me a black Spec V with no options except floor mats. Amazing that when you are going to leave they will budge on things. ANWAY...
They ofered 18,000 for it for 60 months / 5.9%
With 1,200 equity from my truck it came down to 16,800.
I got the extended Gold warranty plan (1,000) cause I put about 30-40 thousand miles on my vehicle a year.
Blah blah - total was 21,000 with the interest charge after the 60 months.

Sorry but I had to let this all out. I pick it up Tuesday.

Well it was rumored a while back that the model year 2003 they was gonna have the different body stying like they had in the prototype photo's which consists of different side skirts, spoiler and rear bumper.....But it was probably just a big fat rumor....But you never know we'll have to wait and see what Nissan has for tricks...

From what I had to go through, I think it would be better to order the type of Spec V that you want, cause that DAP of 1,275 what crap.
If you order it and tell them not to do anything to the vehicle (except to detail it --that should be free) you can pass all that price gouging crap.

What do you think?

I got my spec v recently. But was originally gonna get just the SE-R in 5 speed. they couldnt get me one. I went back and asked for my down payment back and we got a deal on the car. Nissan seems to jump when you wanna leave.

Talking I know how you feel (I wanna specV)

I just picked up mine last Thursday. The first time I test drove a SpecV was Last November2001. I feel in love with that car as soon as I drove it. The way that summabitch took off and hit in 2nd gear I was like DAMN. I had to have it, first of all there are no Nissan's our car club that we have out here, nothing but 2 TypeR's, a WRX shit load of gsr's and SI"s. Now I got my hands on this car I absolutely love it. I know I'm supposed to break it in but last night this red mustang pulled and wanted to run. To make a long story short I ATE HIS ASS UP, and then handed it back to him later. So Mustang's, Camaro's this is what I have to say to you:finger: just wait until we get all the major bolt on's. For you guys that replied before. If you really want it you guys will get it. Good luck from the babyskyline.

Sounds like you gotta good deal. The one that I test drove was black. My first pick was Yellow of course, but it was so hard to get that. My car is White. Man I can't wait until all the bolt on's are made for our cars. That shit is gonna be so damn tight.
