HELP!! what size speedbleeder for Z-71

Ok...... bought some speedbleeders for my 2001 ext. Silverado. 5.3/4wd with 4 wheel disc brakes. Mike (@Speedbleeders) is really a helpful guy....... we weren't sure what size bleeder I needed 'cus Silverados weren't listed in his book. I called the dealer and he said "it looked like" 10mm x 1.5. Mike thought that might work but kinda remembered another guy needing 10mm x 1.0. So, he sent me both sized sets and I was to return the set I didn't use.
So I removed one from the rear and right away I could see the finer threads visually matched up to the speedbleeder 10 x 1.0, but when I screwed the new speedbleeder in it was a little smaller and screwed all the way in by hand....... didn't even disturb the thread sealant these bleeders come applied with!
If anyone has installed speedbleeders I sure would appreciate any helpful info. Thanks in advance........... Al

Re: HELP!! what size speedbleeder for Z-71

sounds like it was too small. usually, you feel it when you hit that sealent. did it leak afterward? If it didn't leak, then it's ok. have someone press on the brake after you get the bleeder fully seated and tight. you don't strongarm these, just good-n-tite. if it holds fluid, you're ok. If not, you need to by a front and rear bleeder from chevy and send to mike so he can get it right. don't forget, after you get the bleeders in, get new ATE super blue DOT4 brake fluid. You'll like the difference.

Yea it seemed a litle small....... didn't try to tighten it and see if it leaked. Just removed it and replaced with the original. That's a good idea about sending 2 to Mike to see for himself. He suggested pulling 2 and taking them to a parts store to get them sized with a micrometer (I don't have a mic).
Hey Juma........ thanks for the input!! And thanks for making it unanimous considering the super blue. I've been reading about this stuff and found a site where they sell it for $9.25 liter plus shipping. Raceshopper.com.......... gonna try it out with my Powerslots and Hawk HPS's.
