Can I remove all emissions on 85 s10????

I have an 85 s10 4x4 with a manual trans and no ECM, there is no emission testing by me and my 2.8 runs like crap with vacuum leaks, etc.! I would like to install a HOLLEY 2bbl carb, EDLEBROCK manifold, and maybe headers. could I remove all emissions on this engine? what due I need to keep other than EGR, VAPOR CANISTER, PCV VALVE?

Cool

I've got an 83 2 wheel drive with the 2.8 and automatic. I tried to find a decent 2bbl aftermarket carb to replace the Varijet, but, apparently no one makes one for this engine. Don't know if anyone makes headers for it. I stripped off the converter, air pump and its controls, and plugged the EGR vac line. After I rebuilt the carb and replaced all the rotten vac lines, she runs decently enough. Took a bit of fiddling and a new choke coil to get the second barrel to work right. Other than that, its probably cheaper to swap in a 350V8 than to try to soup up the 2.8. As soon as the weather warms up, I am going to try eliminating the Early Fuel Evap. system and put a regular carb base gasket from a 2.8 in its place. Getting rid of this restriction under the Carb should perk it up a bit more. Not sure at this point if it will cause any driveability problems though. Mine's a long bed with a topper and it needs all the help it can get because its so heavy.

Good Luck with yours:
