Question Ugraded exhaust for my Z71 Tahoe

I am new to the site. I searched via Internet explorer and found this site, with some chats about exhaust systems for Z71 Tahoes. I don't know how to get back to those, but does anyone have any infomation about upgrading my exhaust. I spoke with a muffler shop in Tampa, FL and they said that the 4 door Z was extremely difficult if not impossible to upgrade to duals. They said there was no room without removing the spare tire, and then it was still difficult.
The other chats I saw, one guy was showing pictures of his white Z71. Clearly dual Borla's, clearly still had his spare tire.
Are they just trying to set me up for jacked up prices??? There was also a link to a video and audio site from that same guy. I wasn't able to link to the site. Can that be reposted??
I would appreciate any information avaiable.
Happy motoring!!

Depending on the size of the mufflers being installed, a true dual system will fit. Don't know the year of your truck, but mine had dual in and a single out stock. I believe most OBS trucks were like that and NBS uses a single in/out. There again, depending on the size of the used muffler simply offset the mufflers. If you have the single in, add a y-pipe. But unless your using high flow cats and 3" pipe throughout the system, there isn't much benefit from running two mufflers. I put a 40 series Flowmaster on my truck, which involves the spare. The muffler(s) sit along the passenger side along the driveshaft. The tails are the only thing going to the back of the truck. But you can have them anywhere. Angled out the corners, out the sides or straight back. The pipe would have to be "custom" bent but it will avoid the spare. I have no problems with my spare and my tails are going straight out the back.
