2001 cavalier slow pick up

can someone help me figure out this problem? check engine light flashes when accelerating, code misfire #1 cyl. changed #1 coil pack, plugs & wires, same thing. thanks for any help.

check the compression and the fuel injector. check for a plugged exhaust if it's really slow.

A good major tune up would not hurt it. Sometimes the ecu goes crazy when u have a bad wire, coil pack..or even a ecu. Change fuel filters and have this baby serviced well.

also agree to check compression and fuel injector. try a higher octane fuel to prevent detonation. is engine overheating? if the water pump is going out, the farthest piston from the pump will detonate and misfire. also check timing belt...

IM SO HAPPY, turns out that the oil just needed to reach the valves. I cranked it on today and chcked and wala! oil is reaching the valves. Thank you guys for all your help. Water pump and compression seems fine..according to a mechanic I went to.
