Re: waring lights

I'll bet $100 your alternator is gonna go within a week or so. About a week before my alternator took a dump in my Malibu, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, with no appareynt problems. Are all of the lights on steady all the time or do they come and go? If they come and go then it sounds like the alternator. If they are all always on, I would take your car to Autozone and they can check using a scan tool to see what codes, if any, are being thrown.

Hope this helps -

Re: waring lights

Sounds like the sensor in your wheel bearing might be going bad or like jt siad the alternator might be dropping voltage or spiking causing the x-mas tree light dance

Re: waring lights

I'm leaning more towards the alternator because if were just a wheel speed sensor or other sensors in the area, your ABS light would only come on, only come on, not all of the ones you mentioned.

Re: waring lights

Today I had a funny issue with the 'BRAKE' warning light. I parked the car and pulled the e-brake up. The light came on like normal and I shut the car off. All of the lights on the dash at this point shut off. I went into the doctors office for about 30min and when I came out to start my car, I noticed the brake warning light was light WITHOUT the car on, running, and even without the key in the ignition. It was really odd seeing everything shut off when I turned the ignition off. Anyone know what might be causing this? Maybe and electrical issue?

Re: waring lights

Poor Jeremy, out of the frying pan and right smack dab into the fire.

And this dumb ass might just be buying a new Maxx after another horrific, and similar, experience with a 97/98 Malibu. Seems the Alero is worse.

Certainly not to discount AF, but SOME of you need to join us in c&g, which is all new come next Monday, the 29th. Fun for GM fans (and not fans), far and wide. You might just be shocked who you'll meet....
