skylark help pleasepklt 03-07-2004, 10:05 AM hi, I just aquired a 1986 Buick Skylark. For the most part it runs well but the oil pressure drops when you hit the breaks and dies on you, which I'm sure can be fixed with a new oil pump. What I can't figure is how to fix the idol setting. When in park the motor idols at 30 rpms and when driving depending on speed it goes from 40 to 50 rpms. We've look in the owners manual for a solution but it just tells you to see your buick dealer. :banghead: Also, the fuel gage bar keeps flashing and the manual says there's an open circuit. How do you resolve that? :eek7: Thanks for light you can shine on my problem. akinkanju 08-13-2004, 12:00 PM Greetings, This morning after coming into work, I noticed the familiar smell of coolant leaking from my car. After parking I check under my car and literally watched the coolant leak from my 97 buick skylark in a water faucet like fashion. Needless to say my car is not with out coolant. It is an external leak. Does anyone know if there is a way I can fix the leak or is there any kind of bandaid I can give it until i can get it into a shop. Please help. -Ak RANDY534 04-19-2005, 11:38 AM sounds like your lock-up torque converter is not leasing properly.good luck.as far as your coolant leak you need to find out were it is leaking from frist. Get the dealer part and it costs about the same. BNaylor 07-01-2007, 09:37 AM Bob Webster, Welcome to AF. Thanks for your input, however, please check the date and do not resurrect old threads.
