I put a wings west front and rear on my prelude last year and had a shop paint it. I did not prep is by degreasing it and filling it with the puddy however (becasue the paint shop promised me I didn't have to). Now, a year later, Ive started to get these little maybe 1mm deep pockmarks. Theyre little white dots that show up in seemingly random parts of the kit. Is this the remaining grease escaping? I plan on getting a new paintjob soon (from black to yellow). If i were to heat the bumper to exfoliate all the grease (probably leaving little pockmarks all over where they WOULD come out) then sand down the surface so it would be smooth (this is urathane) would it then take paint fine? thanks for the link. Also remember that my bumper is already painted, and that I'm hoping to be able to avoid sanding the ENTIRE thing down, and would probably be using a blowdryer, going very slowly to exfoliate it.

i would just leave it until you're ready to paint to yellow. you would eventually have to sand down the black anyways, so wait till you sand it down, then do the steps needed. or maybe wait till summer where it's over 100 degrees and you won't need a hair dryer

yo chi, just be carefull when you sand it, i don't know if you plan on using air tools or by hand but those west wing body kits will heat up under a da (or orbital sander) and literally in a sense melt, its really hard to get a nice smooth finish after that, as far as the whole degreasing thing goes, all you really need to do for those kits is wash them with hot soapy water preferably dawn and rinse, you want to be careful with wax and grease removers because the poly will actually absorb them and then release after they have been painted and out in the heat of the sun a few weeks, then you'll be getting small pin sized bubbles in the paint,lol seen it happen at ppg paint school they show u all the do's and don'ts bro.

ok, Im totally OK with just using sand paper by hand and taking my time. So washing it eh? Ok I really really hopes this works. If I get the rear up on jacks I prolly wont hafta even take it off huh? (I plan on spending some real serious time with this thing). How do I know when all of the bubbles have come out, yknow? Like how do I know i wont just sand it down and have this happen all over again?

So after all this I should be little bubble free right? no worries and I can feel good about my investment? PEACE!!! I LOVE YOU ALL BECAUSE YOU LOVE CARS!!!
