Now i dont want to get on a rant here, but the picture above is the shittiest Honda my eyes will ever lay sight on. Just proving that honda's can lick my balls. Especially goddamn Civic's, i hate those little pieces of stool that they call a car. Now i know this thread will most likely be dedicated to death threats and such diredted towards me, man i can feel the love from the Honda owners already. So if you feel so inclined to send me a death threat, than thanks it shows you care, again it doesnt show you have a good taste in cars, because Honda's (especially Civic's) can suck my balls. And yeah if anyone is brave enough to back me up and not threaten my life then hey you got balls, UNLIKE all honda's (especially Civic'c)

Well to begin with thanks to all who agree with me that this car sucks, but im kinda dissapointed that i havnt gotten one threat or insult yet. I guess Honda owners cant read that well then. ok for one the cars i was saying that about were professionally done cars which actually look nice. they dont have stupid sticker stripes or huge stupid wings. they also dont put stupid thing like "Millenium Edition" on the cars. also i never said i didnt like the car. its stupid b/c of the bmw symbols on it when its not a bmw. did u see ford symbols on the car with the focus headlights? no. thats rice b/c its claiming its something that its not. so :flipa:

It is very unfortunate that Honda owners like the one in the link you supplied give all Honda owners a bad name. But that crap you are spewing about Hondas and Honda owners stops now. Not all Hondas and Honda owners dress up their cars like this, and I sure as hell don't.

You've got a point. But there is a distinct difference between stress release, not being offended, etc. and blatantly offensive, close-minded posting. Upon re-evaluation of John98R/T's stance, attitude, and intentions, I was able to make light of the situation. But that variety of flame posting is still greatly discouraged here, even though igor gives us the right to post extremely liberally.

I guess what would make me happy would be if you said that those ridiculous "riceboy" Hondas were the ones you have a problem with, since you obviously respect some Hondas and their technology.

I respect the NSX cause its a badass car, and yes i do hate ricers. And i hate pretty much every other honda, but what you forget was the question is which would win, not which car you liked. I like the NSX but i dont think you can put an NSX in the same catagorie as a regular Honda lets Prelude, you are simply barking up the wrong tree, so dont think for a minute you are right, your not wrong either just next time you try to make someone look stupid pick someone who isnt as smart as me! And remember the topic..which car would win, not which car do you like the most, pay attention to details, then you try to make me look dumb.

That's a strange looking car, but I have no right to judge it. If that's what the owner wanted to do with his/her car, so be it. To each his own.

The only rice part of that car is the "millenium edition" and the BMW emblems. I personally don't like a lot of the car, but modifying your car to taste, like painting it, body kits, whatever, is not rice.

JD, I agree with you whole-heartedly. This is a strange thread...I'm not sure of the motives behind posting it.

I've been debating whether or not to revisit this thread and make another post, and I've decided I do have something to say here.

You call that quality writing? You want to rank on a car, at least have something of substance ready to use in your criticism. Seems to me the route of your criticism lies in the Del Sol owner's ricing out of their car. And there are plenty of riced out Neons out there too. Your point seems moot. If you do have a point, I invite you to write about why you don't like Hondas (meaning that you need to site reasons that are Honda specific, or else that you dislike all cars that share the characteristics that you dislike), and I'll be eager to read all about it.

As for the NSX, from what you wrote, I thought you were stating a preference for wanting one. My mistake.

At this point, why I am even bothering with this? I do have a bit of a pride issue, I guess you could say. I know this thread is just about dead, and what was said was said, and that's it. But I need to feel some closure on the issue. I initially resided with enzo, but after GOD's post, I realized that yes, this site prides itself on differences like being able to say what you wish (I certainly do).

So there is indeed a "happy" middle ground. I don't know exactly what that is, but I know that my first reaction in being so defensive was a little uncalled for, even though I continue to dislike what was said in the original post.

I don't like the car, because it is a rip-off bimmer but Jd has a point and it sounds like you're just trying to pick a fight John 98R/T. What stress do you relieve from degrading Hondas and their owners?

when you say honda's can beat vipers you must mean in a straight line. cuz a honda couldnt beat a viper. anything can go fast in a straight line. that is not performance, IMO. performance includes accerelation, speed, AND handling. a honda would get torn up by anything on a track.

They do have a good rep for being ultra reliable.
They arnt particularly stylish.
As far as horsepower goes there pretty low on the auto food chain.

Factory cars with lots of horsepower are usually drastically overpriced. There are few and far between exceptions (I consider the Corvette one such exception) to this rule. Most people aren’t willing to build their cars for horsepower themselves, partially because they have no idea how cheaply it can be done. Look at Ed Bergenholtz’s 720 horsepower (that’s whp, by the way) Honda CRX, which can run the quarter mile in about 9.5 seconds. This car’s value is only about $25,000.

Let’s talk about suspension. I admit that I am not a genius when it comes to suspension systems, but I do know that Honda’s upper and lower control arm systems, used in all small Hondas for years now (except for the newest Civic and the new RSX) are exceptional systems, and represent great potential. Handling dynamics in general work more effectively in lighter cars than heavier ones, which also gives Hondas an edge over the Camaros and Mustangs.

What’s the horsepower babble again? Honda Civic Si and Acura RSX have 160 horsepower, Honda Accord V6 and Acura RSX Type S have 200 horsepower, the Honda S2000 has 240 horsepower, the Acura CL and TL Type S have 260 horsepower, and even the base Civics have 115 or 127 horsepower. I wouldn’t call that low on the auto food chain. In the engine department, Honda is making industry standards for the rest of its automotive peer group to follow. They use hard silicate compounds in their engines and forging processes that most companies only use in race motors (at least until recently – they are finding that they need to use these techniques in lower trim line motors to follow the automotive trends). If you want to talk about torque, you won’t get an argument from me.

I won’t pretend I don’t know what you’re talking about, because I do. The musclecar era died for me in the mid 1970’s. With the Camaro and Firebird teetering on the brink, it seems that some manufacturers are seeing things the same way, as is the American market place since they aren’t buying enough of them. I see the beauty of a displacement monster, the classic cubic-inch, four-barrel carbed powerhouse, with a powertrain as simple as a textbook engine. But it just doesn’t offer the well-rounded driving experience that modern cars can offer, and that Hondas handle very very well for the low prices at which they are available. What you do get are exceptionally made engines in light cars (which benefits the all-important horsepower to weight ratio), that do happen to get good gas mileage, with good suspension geometry to work with, and a wealth of aftermarket support, including everything from turbochargers to exhausts to carbon fiber hoods. And your statement about Hondas not being particularly stylish is purely subjective. I happen to think most Hondas look great (and if anything they are too stylish – look at the way the Civic absolutely dominates the small car market).

It is a shame how because of the sheer numbers of Hondas on the road today, inevitably some owners ruin the image for others. But I hate having to keep justifying my love of Hondas because some punks destroy Honda’s image. That is unfair.

I liked the car. You know why? Because it's a joke. I see it as the owner tries to have fun. The car is funny! Scroll back and look at it (disregard the comments). It's funny. I doubt it's a daily0criven car. The builder is a creative person who knows how to have fun!

Looks like John is picking a fight to me, but he has a point in it all. I for one view Hondas as a decent transportation unit ONLY, and not some sort of exotic sports car. I think its downright silly how some people actually believe that the Civic is somehow a superior car to almost anything on the road, and then set about trying to prove it, and failing miserably in the process. Example - a coworker of mine has a pretty much stock (you wouldn't know it by all the goofy visuals he's done to it), 99' Civic, that gets its ass kicked by my 1992 (old is my emphesis) Marquis - thats STOCK! Now THAT is funny. Grampa car verses Teenie bopper car, and the Grampa car wins :D! Just wait till I really start working on it ;).
