It's about Time>>>>>Timing That is....str8maxn 01-04-2002, 10:28 AM I am thinking of advancing my time and need some recommendations. 15 degress? 17 degress? 19 degress? 1991 G20 5 Speed PS header, intake, 21/4 exhuast\turbo Muffler & ACT clutch are the current mods... Thanks b-b00gie 01-04-2002, 10:41 AM 17 seems to be the most common setting. Some people do 19 but that's getting a little too close for comfort. str8maxn 01-04-2002, 12:06 PM I advanced the time on my sentra along time ago.. by loosening the scew next to the cap and rotor and moving it until I got the time I want. Is this the same for the G20? se-r-57 01-04-2002, 01:37 PM You can go to 19 with no problem. I'v got a few se-r's runnin that down here in Tx. You gotta run the good gas!:D That's with the stock ECU also...........james GoldP11 01-04-2002, 01:58 PM Could anything bad happen to the car if you advance the timing? GoldP11 01-04-2002, 01:59 PM Errrrr, What I mean is, what's the worst that could happen to it? G-Forces 01-04-2002, 03:16 PM You can go to 21deg btdc safely on 92+ octane. 19 btdc is the best for performance anything more than that is diminishing returns. If you have cams or a JWT ECU 15 deg is required. Note: 19 deg BTDC will need 92 octane gas. Dshaft96 01-06-2002, 03:28 PM I've been running 19 deg. no problem for several months with a nice noticeable increase in throttle response. Oh yeah and here in the midwest the premium is 93 oct. so that's good. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
