396

I am wanting to restore my parents 1967 chevelle SS it came stock with a 396bb, currently it has a 327sb. Im wanting to do a complete RESTORATION sometime in the future and thats the only missing piece... the engine... i've been told how 'rare' they are cause supposedly after '72 they weren't really 396's they where 402's or something like that... but thats just what i've been told....anyways... so yeah im wanting to find an orginal good condition 396 block and crank. everything else im sure i could find, heads would be nice too, but im sure i can just order some BB heads that will fit on there. someone, anyone shoot me back some info on what i should do.

Re: 396

As long as you have time then just keep looking. Do searches on the net for 396 engines. Also go to the Chevelle websites. There are a ton of them out there and many of them have pages where people are selling things. Look locally too. Check your news paper and local auto swapper.
