I was wondering if anyone to could help me out with this. I have an '88 truck with a strong 22R and 4-speed transmission, but the body is rusted all to hell. On the other hand, I have an '85 truck, 22R, and a 5-speed, the body is rust-free, perfect and straight, but the engine needs to be replaced. Will the '88 22R bolt up to the '85 5-speed? I'd like to keep it if possible. if anyone knows about this, please let me know.

You shouldn't have any problem with it. Just double check everything before you do it. Does the shifter come into the cab at the same place, do the trans/engine bolt patterns look the same, etc. Just "eye-balling" it should tell you everything. 84-88 Toyota pickups are basically the same, with a few electronic differences. If you're not using either truck on a daily basis, go for it :).
