180SX DriftIcegroove 02-22-2004, 11:12 PM hello fellow artists! This is just something i knocked up over a few nights..started off as just being a dodgey sketch..and has turned into....a dodgey sketch! hehe not really complete....nor in progress...just in limbo! http://www.imageshack.us/files1/180DRIFT.JPG thoughts!? laterz tUsCaN_rAiDeR 02-23-2004, 03:51 AM i like it, i think u just need to work on the rear wheel...its becos of how unusual the perspective is. kep it up! Zcaithaca 02-23-2004, 07:01 AM the car part is awesome! the wheels are not so awesome. thew back wheel has negative camber...when there should be no camber AnsisK 02-23-2004, 08:18 AM Two comments: 1) Change the rumble pads. As far as I've seen, most people don't drift a turn at 90deg to the corner, they'd spin or stop. 2) Avoid using that perspective. It is barely ever used because at that view, the car looks as if it is a toy. You don't ever see a real car from that view, Most are seen at eye level. A toy on the other hand you see most often from that perspective. 3) For a nice smopke effect on the back wheels, use an eraser and lightly (key word) erase some of the back half of the car in the right places. It looks pretty radical if you get it on the nose. Be careful though. Other than a couple little mistakes, your drawing is lookin' good, keep it up. Zwofurti 02-23-2004, 08:29 AM the car part is awesome! the wheels are not so awesome. thew back wheel has postive camber...when there should be no camber off course it's gonna be camber, when you lower a 180 SX its gonna have alot of positive camber.. asaenz 02-23-2004, 08:39 AM Wow, you choose a very hard angle. Is there anyway you can post the ref. pict so I can give you a better tips? The car body looks very good. alfred AnsisK 02-23-2004, 08:50 AM off course it's gonna be camber, when you lower a 180 SX its gonna have alot of positive camber.. Negative camber. Pointing towards the inside (if you look from the front) is negative camber. Zwofurti 02-23-2004, 11:24 AM Negative camber. Pointing towards the inside (if you look from the front) is negative camber. okey, i always mix them=) acoustic 02-23-2004, 05:01 PM yep, they pretty much covered it. back wheel is a little off tho. i like how your darkened the hood, nice KustmAce 02-24-2004, 03:42 PM i like the perspective!!! Its very unique, and aside from what has been said already, i think if a car is sliding one way, the smoke should also be coming from that way, so make it on the passenger side Icegroove 02-24-2004, 11:39 PM hey thanks for the comments guys! lol..i had no intention of adding camber in any way to the back wheel...its more of a perspective mistake then anything. but i'll have to fix that.. Wow, you choose a very hard angle. Is there anyway you can post the ref. pict so I can give you a better tips? mm..there was no ref pic at all. i only used a basic 1/24 car i made....sorry! and should the rumble pads be more...horizontal?? laters! AnsisK 02-25-2004, 08:46 AM Pull the rumble pad up higher on the right edge of the sheet and push it closer to the bottom right corner on the bottom edge. It may look strgane, but that's the perspective you chose. If you want, I can change it in PS for you. Icegroove 02-25-2004, 09:51 AM hey AnsisK that'd be quite helpful and appreciated... thanks!
