Stage I, II, III, etc. Clutchblossomintegra 02-22-2004, 02:59 AM I was wanting to know what the difference between the stage i, ii, iii, etc. clutches were. I've already been to the ACT website, and it didn't help me much. Thanks for the help. KoRnboy 02-22-2004, 07:20 PM They can handle more power from the engine and atleast in a stage 3 it puts a lot more of the engines power to the wheels. I almost shit myself the first time I dropped it with the Stage 3 the front end jumped. whtteg 02-22-2004, 10:36 PM ACT does thier clutches a little different than say Clutch Masters but ACT is better IMO. casperGSR 02-23-2004, 07:07 PM generally speaking different stage clutches means a couple different things... usually the different stages reflect if the clutch is a street clutch or street/strip or all out strip clutch... an all out strip clutch will wear out much quicker then a street clutch if you plan on driving the car on a regular basis as opposed to just driving it on the 1/4 mile... strip clutches also engage much more quickly then a street clutch which for daily driving aren't necessarily the best thing in stop and go traffic... the higher number stages also usually reflect the amount of horsepower they're able to handle without going... I know this is true of clutchmasters and some others out there. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
