98 Tahoe front end clunk

My 98 tahoe has a weird clunk in the left front when I go in and out of my driveway or over any speed bumps. I have looked at the suspension and couldnt fin anything loose. Any suggestions?

Re: 98 Tahoe front end clunk

what have you checked so far?? take a close look at the balljoints, jack up the lower controll arm and try to shake the wheel from top to bottom. i assume you checked the tierods, pitman, idler. look for broken or missing swaybar links. i'm betting it's a balljoint if you don't jack it up at the control arm the balljoints won't be unloaded. check the steering shaft too when they go bad they make all kinds of noise. another problem area on some chevy's is the torsion bars but there not much you can do about those. well at any rate good luck finding your clunk.
