Problem with 2000 Chevy Silverado

I am having trouble with what I believe is the computer system that controls the electrical system in that the lights on the dash go on and off. The different gages, speedometer and gas gauge and such will go dead then go back to where they belong. The radio will go off when I step on the break then back on. The battery light will come on and that is when the gauges go dead or to 0 speedometer and empty gas gauge then when the battery light goes off they go back to normal. The headlights will allso dim and flicker. I have checked to see if it was the Alt and battery. It all started after I removed the battery cable to replace the spark plugs. It so far has not affected how the truck runs except for not wanting to start, but that is very seldom. Thanks Todd

Re: Problem with 2000 Chevy Silverado

Sounds to me like a bad ground. You remove and clean your ground cable to the battery and do a visual to the surrounding cables. Check every ground terminal surrounding the battery, you may have worked one loose unknowingly. Same deal around the engine itself.

Other than that, sounds like your gonna have to take it in, as said before.
