Question audio info

I have a 90 g60 and I'm trying to replace the head unit. Someone told me the the rear spoiler and the cruise control is controlled through that and I could lose those functions. Is this true? Also anyone with info on the install, could you please send it to me? Thanks.

Howdy "FURLONG" . . .

I've been scouring the net for you, and so far have found no information that says there's any connection between the head uint and the spoiler/cruise control . . .

It does seem that the cruise control is connected to the siring for the self actuated rear spoiler (that thing is SO cool) . . . but that's probably because the cruise control has speed sensing equipment included . . .

So far NO connection seems to exist with the head unit . . .

Welcome to AF!!

Okay . . .

I found a site that looks to be a pretty good resource for Corrado audio advice.

This dude put up a pretty good site with EXCELLENT reference information, and ot be honest with you, I think by reading and understanding the information on his site, you may well consider installing your stereo yourself.

I'd be willing to help you on it . . .

Anyway . . . check out the site . . .

you have no need to worry about the cruise control when installing a new stereo unit, but the speakers in the doors are amped, with an amp in the actual speaker unit, you will want to install new speakers, because an aftermarket headunit won't hook up to the amp, if for some reason you kine the factory speakers, you can bypass the amp, and run wires to the speakers in their housings, but I don't suggest it.
