91 Grand Am LE Brake problem

I have a 91 grand am and it was driving perfectly fine...for a 91 with 170,000 miles on it...Thats when i drove it to work and it drove fine got done with work and went to drive home and my brake light was on.I thought it was my emer brake so checked and still it was on. Go to pull out and i have to press the brake to the floor to even start to get stoped. I also notice that when i aplly the brake my car pulls to the left. has anyone had this problem or might know what it is?
thanks
jeff

first off, check your brake fluid, you might be low or have a leak, next check your pads, are your brakes making any noises (screaching, ect.)?

glad that worked. Keep an eye on the fluid, if it got that low, its possible you might have a leak. When you get a chance on a dry day, take off your wheel, and check your brake lines for moisture.
