Sunday night, I was out looking for races so I decided to cruise the North Side of Chicago in my 2000 Accord 5spd. Eventually I came up on a 96ish Stang GT and a 96 Chevy Beretta. I was doing my normal weaving through traffic, then when the Beretta saw me getting ready to pass him, he cut me off and started to cut through traffic ahead of me. Two cars later we pass the Stang. He doesnt like it and roars past us to the light. Then out of a gas station on the right comes an old (85 or so) Caprice with a lift job. When the light turns, we all take off. Its all a race to catch up to the GT. The end result:

GT stomps all of us a new asshole, I beat the Beretta by a few lengths, and the old Caprice is left pouting.

As we all realigned at the next light, I realized I had just been racing 3 Latin Kings. At this point, I turned off.

Any other Chicagoans know that dealing with Kings isnt usually a pleasant experience.:( :devil:

im from st. louis so i dunno about the kings but good kill on the beretta, and the caprice. I raced my friends GT and he handed me my ass. Maybe someday though. my boy's Si would make that GT look like a focus.

probably.......but i just want to know why they're so "popular" amongst street racers from chicago.......that guy said if you're from chicago, you should know not to race 'em.........i don't get it........anyways........i guess that guy can only answer that

yeah... latin kings are a gang if you wanna call it that... i've never had to deal with them... didn't know they raced much... a beretta sounds like something someone of latin american ethnicity would drive though... that and cougar, t-bird, and a big pickup truck... maybe i'm just stereo typing though... well.. i just wouldn't have to deal with them if anything happend... luckily the reason they would get really mad is if you beat them in a race... that means you would be able to outrun them as they chased ;)

Yeah, the Kings are a gang, like Gerbilo said. I didnt mean you should know not to race them. You should just know not to start anything with them in general. I guess if you raced and beat one of the more excitable ones, they would probably chase you with intent to f*ck you up when they got their hands on you. But the majority would probably chase you just to scare you if you beat em.:rolleyes:

The problem with kings is, they always roll like 30 deep. Me and 6 of my friends were about to get jumped by 8, then one whistled and about 12 more appeared out of no where. No :confused: exaggeration:confused: (I have no idea how to spell that word)

Theyre not really "popular" in the street racing scene, its just that there are a lot of them in the general population you see driving around.

Actually the Latin Kings are a group of gangs that are nation wide. You have to be of Latin American or Native American decent with at least 1/8 ( I think might have to be a 1/4 ) documented blood in your veins. The reason that you don't want to race them is that there bad asses and will kick your ass, unless your super tough or are going to win by a large margin.

What part of Long Beach are you from, I'm from Seal Beach but I live in Atlanta now.

Unless Long Beach has changed alot in the last couple of years you've got a whole lot of shit to worry about yourself. Long Beach is not exactly what iwould call a picnic.

well.......Long beach isn't all that bad.......except people go around and jack your shit on your car......that's some messed up shit too.....:(

another good thing about my neighborhood.......JUN has a shop like 5 min. from my house......if i had a car, i could take my car down their and pretend im going to by something everyday.......cool!!!!!:D

Yeah, I live in the "E", but I'm all over the place once I get in the car. I've made far too many trips to Aurora for silly reasons. I used to go to Schaumburg to try and catch a PH meet, but I would always miss it:( :rolleyes:
