You can, but since it doesn't have a distributor you have to bring it to the dealer and let them do it with their OBDII programing machine.

I assume you're talking about that plastic thing that goes over the engine, not the valve cover since you said you saw a carbon fiber one. You can just paint your own, it's just plastic. Just get some high temp paint (probably not needed, but just in case) and go to town.

thnx for the reply.

You could try a few dealers, some will do it, others won't. Just depends on how the service guy is feeling that day.

The valve cover is most certainly NOT plastic, once again you must be talking about one of those plastic "pretty covers". If your valve cover was plastic it would either melt or blow off the block (maybe even both) within seconds of starting your engine. They can't be made out of carbon fiber either, so again that's not what you're talking about. You can get painted or powdercoated valve covers, but that's going to cost you several hundred dollars. You can paint it yourself with some high temperature paint, but I doubt it would come out well, the only other option is taking it somewhere to get powdercoated. If you're talking about the plastic cover then you can just paint it yourself and it would be fine.

the valve cover is a form of plastic because it is not metal. its black with swirls of lighter shades in it. it probably some form of poly material that is high sterength and what not. but thnx for the info i will look for a valve cover soon.
