I got into a race with a bigmouth asshole in a camaro once. I pulled up next to him and revved my engine (stock cavalier) and he revved back and started talking smack. I guess he wasnt paying attention cuz i blew him off the line at the light, and he must have been embarrassed cuz after a block or so he caught up, and i looked at him and gave him a thumbs up. Then he turned onto a side street. I was so proud :icon16:

the best i have had is either me and my friend with a vw gti and i running up to 140, i whooped his ass. or a vw jetta with a bodykit and exhaust and who knows what else, who stayed right on my ass all the way to 120. well, i beat the hell out of both of them off the line, awd ownz j00

hmm my best race was when I had my MR2 (My Camaro is my favorite car by far though). I was at the illegal races when some guys approached my friends and I. He was trying to setup a race with a friend of his CRX and me (87 MR2 N/A 5 speed). We both lined up. I had the car tached up to 400 rpms (No torque). I killed him off the line, but his car was more powerful overall. He basically started to pass me once we reached second, by a few inches. By third I power shifted, and was right with him. I kept that baby screaming (I think teh car had over a 7000 rpm redline, but I can't remember). Basically i inched him out, literally. He was quite pissed off. My buddies were on their feet. I felt like a champ. Too bad the Popo's ruined all the fun at the illegals. i don't think an abandoned street liek San Fernando Rd. can cause as much death as they make it out. Oh well.

The best race i was in is when i was riding with my friend in his 1990 cougar 5.0 . It's supercharged and runs on a mix of Turboblue and 98 octane, and has a Flomaster exaust as well as some very nasty motor work. We were in a neighboring city going to a friends newly opened speed shop. Some rich guy pulled up in a suit and tie in a brand new 2003 BMW Z3..he reved his motor at the stop light. So my friend reved his..the light turned green and my friend lit the tires and we blew the guys doors off..dident see him for 5 blocks..he pulled up next to us and looked at me then to my friend..my friend being the fratboy he is gave him the finger then pulled away into our friends parking lot...he had to replace his transmission after that race...burned out third gear

I have been in far too many races to pick my best, so I'll just pick one off the top of my head.

A really good one was not long before my 89 GTC was totaled. I was driving through American Fork headed for the freeway. The light I was at makes a good left turn on to State Street. Up next to me pulls a blue WRX. He kept inching up as he expected the light to change. I stood still bringing up my RPMs for the launch. As I did I heard his engine begin to rev as well. The light turned green and we both dumped the clutch. I got a damn good launch, but his AWD made quick work of that. Lucky for me I was on the inside, taking a little edge off his advantage. Once I hit second gear I began to pull on him. I passed him in fourth and we both shut it down. At the next light we were both taking a right on 500 East to get on the freeway. We come around the turn and he tried to get around me and he pulls past me. Too bad for him this race turns out just like the last. Now for the best part, we get to the on-ramp and both take off towards the freeway. As I begin to pull I start to pace his speed. When we merged onto the freeway I let him catch up and I paced him, then I looked over, waved goodbye, and then I floored it and just walked away. I shut it down about 130 MPH. He caught up and had a bewildered look on his face but we gave each other the thumbs up, and that is what made that race great.

the best race i had. i was driving on I95 goin south and i see this car tailgating me. i speed up tto 90mph. hes still on my tail. so i drive like this for like 5 miles then i finally give up and let him pass. well when hes next to me, i see this bunch of highschool kids in a white sentra. they were just looking at my car like they wanted to race. well they jumped ahead then i downshifted to 3th at around 75mph. like 5 seconds later at 110mph shifting to 5th gear. i couldn't even see his headlights anymore. now i'm wondering was he really racing? ahhh who cares he better bow down to me!! :loser:

next favorite race with my friend driving my car who wanted to race this big mouth saying how the 350Z was unbeatable. well my friend raced him and killed him by around 5-6 cars.

then next would probrably be a late body stang GT on the highway. i didn't expect him to go, but he went. i gave him a 2 car headstart then i downshifted to 4th from 80mph and easily pulled on him. when i shifted to 5th gear, i let him hear my blow off valve and my exhuast shot a fire ball out. it was great. :sunglasse

Well, one race I remember, nothing too big, but it gets funnier. I'm on my way back home from a friends house in my 02 Eclipse GT 5spd. Up pulls next to me is an 03 Tiburon Gt v6. I beat him, then a few weeks later he shows up at the dealership I work at. I'm the parts manager at a Hyundai dealership on that side of town. His clutch is smoked. His first one went out at 4k miles, we warrantied that one, this one smoked at 11k miles. He claims he doesn't race it even though his front tires are bald, and rears are new. Then I told him what car I drive and that I raced him a few weeks earlier, then he admitted it, and payed for the clutch.

2nd one, friend of mine has an 11sec street legal 93 Civic hatch. It's about an hour drive to where everybody races so he doesn't make it much. Guy has a vette z06, beats a lot of people for a few weeks, thinking he's just the shit and that he can beat anybody there. My friend shows up one weekend and the guy in the vette talkin shit as usual. My friends blows him away by ungodly amount of car lengths. Guy never even came back after the race and nobody has seen him since.

NARRC Runnoffs at Lime Rock Park last November. 20 laps in the rain/drying, started 3rd in class, about 25th overall. Discovered that you can go 4 wide on the front straight, and that a lot of people can't keep their car pointed in the right direction in the rain. Was up to 2nd in class and about 10th overall after 2 laps, then it started to dry out. The car that was behind me in class was catching me quickly. Used a lot of creative lines and making sure I got passed by the faster classes in the right places for the last 5 laps, and ended up beating the 3rd place guy in class (BMW Z3) by about 5 feet.

Sorry, forgot this was a street racing forum.

i'd say the best race i've ever been in was against the 2001 trans am
i was a the street races and the cops had raided everyone out about a hour ago so when i got there there was only aobut 10 cars(imports). all of the sudden a big group of american muscle comes in in a straight line.
mustang cobra, mustang cobra, stang gt, cobra, cobra, trans am, gt, gt.

so there across the street basically laughing at us, and everyone on my side basically looked to me cause i was the only one who could possibly beat any of them. so i went over to there sidea and did an awd launch in there parking pulled on the e brake and revved my engine like crazy. then the trans am starts revving back he has flames on the side of his car, he flicks me off and revs and revs so i go back to the import side and we all leave but the muscles don't follow. shortin this up, we just leave cause the muscles don't follow and a we all go home, i go drop off my g/f and get back on the freeway and what do you know :evillol: the same damn trans am, he see's me and punches it i follow, at first and i'm not gaining i mean we are keeping the same distance between us which is about 3 car lengths. finally we get to 125 mph and i start gaining slowly but surley, i pass him up nice and slow at 140mph smiling. and i finally shut down at almost 150mph. dang that felt good.

don't you hate it when that happens? a group of v8's comes in and starts laughing. and the worse thing is, most of the time, we can t' do anything about it.

Every race has been the best for me, even the ones I never bothered posting, especially the ones I don't post because people will probably flame...:D

Nobody expects my beater to be half as quick as it is.

I get asked: "Whatcha got in there?", "You have NOS?", and get told: "Bullshit!", "No way!", "Damn!", or just flipped-off when I tell them: "It's stock!"

Can't say I've really been in many races. Most of the time people seem to leave me alone. Dunno if it's because people don't know a whole lot about Del Sol's, because I don't have a fart can sticking out the rear, or because everyone thinks all Del Sol's are really heavy or slow. Either way, it seems mostly ricey cars tend to actually mess with me. I guess 'cause they think I'm an easy kill.

I can't say it was the best race (since nobody really tries to race me), but definately the funniest. A white EK Honda Civic coupe "SiR" tried to race me on my way home on the interstate one night. It was riced out with the usual, including a SiR badge. Worst of all, it was an automatic. Not really anything challenging, but was funny to see their faces as I waved "bye" to them.

In fact, thus far, I count two riced out white EK Civic sedans/coupes, one ricey black Eclipse RS or GS (couldn't tell - had more body kit parts than a speed shop on that thing), one ricey 5th gen Accord LX coupe, some ricey Ford Probe (non-GT), and a nice looking Celica GT that have made attempts to run me. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

We got a 187 in Glendale, Cops are all over it, lets go!

Sorry, couldn't help myself...

Best race that I lost? I was drivin my mom's Kompressor, raced an older 'Stang, coulda been a 5.0, wouldn't know (it had the badges, but my buddy's Civic as Si badges, and its an EX...looser), and it beat my moms car by less than the bumper. It was a good race.

Best race that I won was me in my dad's old car (an older 944 Turbo) v. a newer 911. I was on 121 South, and he was on my tail the entire time, and when he went to passed, I gunned it, and we pulled back at about 130 when 121 merges to 820 South. I had about a length on him.

Well for me its a tie between two looses, then one good win.
1st Loose- 94 (i think) prelude w/ H22 motor heavely modded. We start off the same then we hit second at the exact same time and he inches on me bit by bit once i hit 4,500 rpms, then third he inches, and fourth, and fifth. VERY CLOSE race ending up, darn.
2nd Loose- 02' GT Mustang- Stock, i kick his ass taking off by about 1 car. He hits second and pulls about 5 feet on me, then hits third and pulls like 7 more feet, erh!!! Well i let off cause i knew it was over.

My win-94' GSR Integra- He was about bumper to bumper coming out of 3rd, then i pulled on him when i hit 105 (exactly 4th gear). Ended up about 2-3 cars in front of him at 120. (He missed 5th, hehe :naughty: )

My cars pretty slow right now, saving up for nitrous, all the little mod money is going in to that so its pretty much stock for right now.

my best was when me ('92 240sx) and my friend ('01 grand am) were racing down one of our local roads going to a friends house. We were going around the 90 degree bends at about 80 and we came up on the S turn and had to slow doun to 50. right after that we both took it back up to about 105 and some little suzuki jeep wanna-be thing was driving along at 35 mph, the speed limit, and i got over right before i got to him. It was the greatest feeling in the world. There is nothing better than passing somebody going 100+ than passing them going faster.

I have a tie one is a win and the other is a loss.

Win: Back when the S2000 had just come out and people were paying way over sticker to get there hands on one and it was suppose to be so amazing. I got next to one at a light where ahead was a perfect 2 lane and the first speed limit sign is exactly a 1/4 mile. I reved he reved we looked at each other. Light when green I left him at the light bad and he was a good 2-3 car behinds me the wholel way. This was in my 83 GT.

Loss: One I posted here last summer about my Boss's Quick Street Blown Stang on street tires giving me an ass raping in my N/A 393 GT.

Maybe if it was a Celica GT-S...but either way...unless your 'Vette is really junked.

In reply to mediocrity, I live in a very rural area. It is a town called Melrose near Gainsville in Florida. The name of the road is Baden Powell. The bends are not sharp at all. very broad. thats why i said bend instead of turn. I dont know why they put the speed limit at 35 except for the s turn. That requires some slowing down to like 45. Other than that it is a pretty straight road. Two long straightaways at the beginning and end, about a mile and a half long and 2 75-90 degree bends in between with quarter mile straights between them. the s turn is the last turn. it is a two lane road. No BS. I have driven the road so many times that i could do it with my eyes closed.

Me in my 89 olds 88 coupe, and a honda VTEC with exhaust intake and suspension mods were sitting at the light to pull on to I74 at about 1:30 in the morning, it's two lanes that merge into one, and I was sitting there when he came flying up looking all bad ass. Light turns green and we both gun it around the bend to the on ramp and he's at the front of my driver door all the way down the ramp, to the point where I had to slow down or I would have run out of road. I loved hearing him shift gears and barely pull any farther up on me.

New best race ever! Almost got my ass busted too!

my buddy is driving his cousins car trying to sell it (brand new eclipse, engine mods, exhaust, very loud, very fast). I took a ride with him yesterday, and he drove it like a pussy, cuz he wasnt used to it, couldnt get a decent launch if his life depended on it. Well, me being the bigmouth that i am, challenged him to a race, but he didnt wanna, cuz he knew he'd be embarrased, cuz he couldnt drive it well.

Well, today he calls me and asks if i still wanna race, i accept, becuz i never turn down a race, so we leave my school and go try to find a suitable track. We end up some side street road, and lined up. Well, this lady had just turned behind us, so we let her thru. Well, the flagman calls it, and we both launch. I light up my tires for a quick sec, and pull away really fast. So im going, and i can hear him lettin the clutch slip real bad, but he's gaining on me. At about 60, he passes me, and by about 75, we start to slow down.

He ended up winning by less than a car lenght, he prolly passed me by about 3/4 maybe a little more. Needless to say, i am very proud of my bonestock cavalier.

On to the good part, the lady that had passed us had gone down the road, turned around, and was waiting for us on another sidestreet. Well, we come flyin by, me and my friend both turn around, and she turns and starts to follow me. Well, i recognize a bad situation, and turn onto another street, she guns it, and follows my friend, who takes off. So while shes chasing him around, im working my way back to my school, to hide. He calls, meets me there, and we just chill for a while. Then we leave.

It was great fun, and man, that eclsipse was sweet. Luckily, i still pretty much have bragging rights over him, because a. the car isnt his, and b. it was the car that beat mine, not his skills. Like, a car that shouldve blown the doors off of mine beat me by less than a car length, so im happy.
