idle problem

I have a 97 LX. My idle jumps around sometimes to about 450-750 and the car viberates bad. I just did a tune up (rotor, cap, wires, plugs). Everything looked good too. Also there is a small skip in the motor about 2,500rpm. Dont know if the problem is related. I haven't noticed a pattern with any of these problems. What does it sound like??

Sounds like it could be an intake and filter problem. Did you recently replace an OEM intake? Otherwise it could be something with the timing. My car did some strange things when the filter got messed up. I cleaned it out and dried it, now it's fine. Go figure?

Might be the power control module or the Idle , air control module. You'll need a multi meter and a voltage spec guide to find out for sure.

It is the timing. Cause mine did the same thing. So just go get ittimed and it will be done with.

If the idle rpm jumps up and down irregularly, it could be your temp sensor.
