Error Code

I recently had my check engine light come on. I took the car to autozone and they scanned the code for me. The result was a P1404 error that has something to do with the EGR temp sensor. Can anyone explain to me what could cause this error and how to fix it. I have found some data online that said either the EGR valve need cleaned or it could be a glitch in the computer.

has it come back on since???? If not I wouldn't worry about it. Might have just been from the cold.

Did you ever fix this problem? I purchased a scanner that read the same code on my 2000 Alero 3.4L. I also read about cleaning as a solution. Did you try this?
