Exhaust for Spec V a bad idea?
I know a header/intake would be a good combo for a Spec V but I've read that the SE-R has a tuned exhaust and variable capacity muffler. I've also heard the exhaust note can be quite raspy with a header and without an exhaust on an SE-R. So, my question is, would an aftermarket exhaust really make that much difference? Thanks in advance.

No it won't make much of a difference, it's mostly for the sound. Though that "tuned exhaust" and "variable capacity muffler" is a load of crap. Exhaust systems on NA cars never gain much power at all, you might get 2-3 if you're lucky.

So, let's say I got a Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust. Would that be a good choice? Thanks.

My friend with a spec has one in the mail right now, so once his gets installed, I'll let you know

Re: Exhaust for Spec V a bad idea?
he got the exhaust on, it sounds pretty nice
He has the AEBS header so it would sound a little different if you have the stock one, but it sounded pretty aggressive and not raspy at all. Looks like a pretty good choice
