I wasn't ragging on anyone, I'm trying to help you be a better person by asking more intelligent questions, by searching for the answers yourself rather than me spoon-feeding you, you will earn the knowledge and appreciate it that much more. If you or anyone else has questions I'm here to help, but all I ask is that you atleast search alittle bit for the answer because most of them can be found relitivly easy. Anyway, the simple answer is if you plan on going over 350hp you will want the R-154 (turbo 5-speed), if you plan on staying stock or under 350hp then the W-58 (n/a 5-speed) will be fine. Either transmission is a direct bolt on but you will need the clutch, fork, pressure plate, transmission tunnel bracket, and driveshaft that goes with whichever you choose.

ok ill tell you what im planning to do and you tell me if im not going to be able to do it. I have a 89 supra n/a 5 speed but i can get my hands on a 89 turbo automatic the body on the n/z is alot better and the interioris alot cleaner than the turbo plus no body rot, what would i exactly have to do just disconnect the engines and swap them because i read that if i have a automatic to a standard ecu that ill have to splice 2 wires and do some other suff but i heard from a friend who has alot of muscle cars that if the car is convinced that it is stuck in park the the reverse lights wont go on without some work and i wont have as much power as if it was a standard because it will be comvinced it was in park but then i might be a total retard so if any one can help and project thanx for the help hope we can be friends

No the car will run the exact same auto to manual, the only differance being the auto will eat up alittle more HP through the tranny. There will be alittle less wiring than a normal auto/manual swap since you won't have to find and wire the neutral safety switch. You will have to wire up the reverse light wiring on the engine harness to the manual plugs. The wire your looking for from the auto and manual transmission harness are solid yellow and a red w/ black stripe. I can't help much with that since I haven't done that swap but I can read the diagram and those are the ones your looking for to make the reverse lights work by connecting to the backup light switch. You can use the turbo automatic ECU on the manual with no problems (you will have to use it by the way). If you don't want to do any wiring you can just find a turbo manual engine harness but you only have to splice 2 wires so there should be no problems. If you want to see the diagrams for yourself find page D-1 in the TSRM and there will be an index of all the electrical diagrams.
