Electric seat heater in 2500 extended cab

I recently had the electric heater stop working on the pass. side of my truck. The on/off button flashes, and the auto guide says nothing about repair, merely refers you to the Dodge dealer. Checking my larger dodge manual, also nothing.

does anyone have an idea of what needs to be done to get the heater up and running.??

I just had the same thing start happening today. Have you found anything out yet?

$200 to trace the lines?!?!!? That sounds like a dealer that couldn't find his exhaust pipe in the dark with both hands. My bet is that the flashing is an error code saying that there is too high (or low!) of a load to the elements in the seat. Off to get my dvm and dig around..........

So here is the deal:
There are about 5 heating elements in the seat, and one in the back, all wired in series. The light flashes when the circuit opens. It is too complex to describe here, but with careful observation, the seat cushion can be removed and the upholstery undone revealing the connectors for the other elements. In my case, one of the wires from the connector to the heating element broke at the element. All told, including a couple of mis-starts, it took about 2 hours.
