Programming a second Keyless RemoteThe Nacc 02-08-2004, 03:58 PM Hi guys I am trying to program a second keyless remote for my 2001 3.5 litre. First of all can anybody help me with the procedure so I can do it myself. I read a few posts on the subject, but none seem to be for a 2001. Another dumb question is where is the DLC on the 2001 and what does it look like. Looking forward to a reply Thanks in advance The Nacc Marc_Aurora_2001 02-08-2004, 08:36 PM The Nacc....The following instructions for remote programming are from the 2001 Aurora shop manual. You need a scan tool for this. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-3/138085/remoteprog.jpg _______________ GM!!! SAVE OLDS!!! The Nacc 02-10-2004, 01:09 AM Thanks Marc Aurora 2001 That procedure looks pretty official. I came across something in another board yesterday that talked about a "fused jumper wire" and the 4th and 8th input on the data line connector. Is a "fused jumper wire" have the same purpose the same as a scan tool that you mention. The procedure it mentioned was almost the same one as in the arcticle you mentioned only it used a "fused jumper wire" and the 4th and 8th input on the data line connector. Have you heard of this. And does it work Thanks in advance The Nacc Indy8 02-10-2004, 12:34 PM It does the same thing. They state the use of the scan tool to get you into the dealer. Marc_Aurora_2001 02-10-2004, 04:16 PM I knew about connecting those 2 terminals, but I always thought that that was for the 1995/99, and not the 2001/03. ________________ GM!!! SAVE OLDS!!! Lee Must 03-04-2004, 01:39 PM Hi Guys, I have a question about the remotes. All functions work on both of mine (1997 Aurora), except the unlock and also when I put the car in Park and shut down the engine, the doors do not unlock then, either. Is there a way to program, that function back in, or is it another problem? BrianC974 03-04-2004, 02:26 PM I'm a tech at a Olds dealer. You can't ground the pins on the DLC on the Aurora to enter program mode. Works on some GM's, not the Aurora. You need the Tech 2 scan tool, take it to the dealer, you're only option. Lee Must 03-05-2004, 09:33 AM I guess I found out that, my problem isn't in the remote, but some place else, The unlocks don't work when you put the car in park... Thanks, Lee KillerKeller_jr 03-05-2004, 07:52 PM Hey Brian, gonna have to disagree with you but I sure got it to work on my Aurora (1995) and I just grounded the 4 & 8 terminals and it worked great. Saved about $200 compare to taking to the dealer. I am unsure if the same thing works for the 2001 but pretty sure according to the forums I've read here. Any one know for sure? Indy8 03-08-2004, 03:48 AM I jumped them on my 97 too. The lock/unlock options can be set without the remotes as called out in the owners manual. Spinman 03-20-2004, 11:02 PM I was able to set my '96 using a fused jumper wire - with instructions found on the Forum. Worked great. (Also found the instruction on ALLDATA - just to be sure).
