Question 1991 Vette

I have a question for vette members, My son is thinking about trading for a 91 vette with 109k he states that car is in exellent shape ,garage kept. My question is if you have $9000.00 wrapped up in this trade what would be the profit on a resale ubove $9000.00 assuming car is tit'sThe other question is, did this year have any ongoing problems or major service bulletins was this year a lemon or? This would be an Ariz. car I hoping that the vette crowd can help me out here? Talk to me! Newmex

Re: 1991 Vette

I'm not sure the resale value of that year, if it's a ZR1-it would have the 383 stroker motor- then it could be worth some bucks. The only thing is that the seats in the '91 vette are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in (in any car) around town is okay, but if you're taking any kind of road trip be prepared for a stiff back and a sore behind.

Thats about right for a 91, they were the last year for the L-98 motor, lots of torque and easy to mod. the body style is the newer type, 90-96 with the updated dash. ZR1s at that price would be a rag. L-98s are easy to stroke to 383s, their are lots of kits out their, ZR1s had an engine built by mercury marine, Great motors, but parts are expensive.
A C4 type vete is a car you fit in to, sorta like a glove, the cockpit surounds you like a fighter plane, The seats hold you tight and the sport seats have lots of adjustments, once someone drives one they know why people like em.
Vets with lower miles tend to have more problems than the ones that have been driven. Its not good for a car to just set. It cost more to get vets worked on than some cars because things are packed into small places, and some people tend to add a Corvette Tax, they think you have lots of money cause its a vette, I have had to learn about mine cause it can get expensive to pay some one else to do repairs.
If the car looks and drives good get it checked out and go for it !
