my stepfather has a 1973 gto. its burgandy,67,000 miles, 400,400 trans i think. he is the second owner and i might buy it if i knew what its worth.i've looked all over and can't find one for sale on the enternet.nowhere! i know their were only 4300 of these cars sold. its got to be worth more than $2400.(thats what he wants for it) i've seen the car before but its been a couple of years. he says it needs to be stripped down to the metal because its been painted a few times. the car can definetly be driven anywhere. what im saying its not show room but is pretty sharp car. if anyone knows what the average price is on a73 gto please respond.thanks

Well the reason you can't find any on the internet is because no one wants them. '73 and '74 were horrible years for all muscle cars, and the GTOs of those years aren't really even cosidered real GTOs. I guess it would be good to hold on to, because they are pretty rare, but they don't bring a lot of cash or attention. If you like GTOs, invest your money in a '64-'72...

Back in 1979 I bought a 74 GTO....

It was actually a Ventura with the GTO package, hatchback with basically a stock 350 in it. The best thing about it was the hood scoop which was a working version of the Trans am style scoop.

Well...a couple of years later I ran across some 421 open chamber heads off of an earlier goat and built one hell of an engine. I swear the intake valves were 3" or 4" in diameter (lol), 780 Holly dual feed, 3200 stall converter.........and the speeding tickets.

It got the girls too!

Still would love to find a 68 or 69 though to refurb.

And the new one sucks! Cannot believe they did THAT!
