Heating / AC control panel lighting

Need to replace Heating and AC bulbs on control panel in a 1993 Lumina Sedan. Has anyone done this? Does the dash have to come out?

My Ac/Heating panel lighting went out as well. So, I removed the dash bolts and pushed the dash up so I could remove the Panel that says EURO on it. I then removed the screws from the heating pack pulled it out opened the pack and Noticed it didn't have a simple bulb you can replace. There is actually plastic lining going around the circuits that have little bulbs through out. So, I just went to the junkyard and removed one from another car and paid $20.00. So, you to are going to have to replace it as well.

Heating A/C control panel lighting

I did check the owners manual. It does say there are two replacement
bulbs for the unit. I also did look inside the unit and I didn't see any bulbs that looked to be replaced. Is why I was wondering.

H.V.A.C. back lighting

I have a 92 Lumina 2 dr. Euro 3.1 and I have just replaced all the lights in the H.V.A.C. Head unit. If we are talking the same units read on.
it is not an easy job getting to the lights, and once you are there they must be soldered out and into place. The bad news is GM wont sell you the bulbs, but it will sell the whole head unit at a price of about $700.00 (Canadian). the good news is the lights are available at Radio Shack for about $4.00 each and you will need 6 or 7 (In Canada)
I thought about using a junkyard part but figured the lights may not be working in that either. If you are keen on fixing them and would like a more detailed description on how to replace them fell free to email me and I will do my best to help you. Next week I am going to try the back lighting on the stock radio. Fun Wow!!
