S13 UndersteerRB25240kouki 02-04-2004, 02:57 AM Currently I am looking for a H/B S13 to buy (DOHC years). And also I saw "The Drift Bible" by the drift king Tsuchiya. In this video he shows the s13 (sr20 coupe of course) as a car with lots of understeer. He said that one of his K office suspensions can fix that. Well, I was wondering if the USDM S13 H/B has the same problem. And if so what kind of suspension mods/adjustments can you do to help correct this problem. And what type/brand of suspension to buy to do so (Currently Im under the impression that Tein is the BEST). Finally what are some other good suspension modifications that are better for the s13. Look forward to your feedback. SR20DETpower 02-04-2004, 06:53 AM I believe understeer is prevailent in 95% of cars stock, and you must work the car to get oversteer. This wo uld include over powering it, or over driving it. Giving it too much gas in a turn or turning the wheel too hard to let your mommentum make you slide. Look at suspension spring rates, a set with a harder spring rate in the rear is more succeptable to oversteer. Most 240sx coilovers have a larger spring rate in the front. Also having a bigger sway bar in the rear then whats in the gront will help with creating oversteer. it depends on your ride harshness u want, I would say try out some coilovers, and get some springs to fit them to give u 5 or 6kg/mm spring rate up front and lets say 8 or 9kg/mm spring rate in the rear. Then I would add an aftermarket sway bar in the REAR only. Most come with poly bushings, and I would also buy a set of poly bushings to replace the bushings on the stock front sway bar. Since this is a unibody car, strut tower braces actually do some good. I would recromend any brand, price is not an issue on this part, and get them for the front and rear. TheLogikal1 02-04-2004, 09:34 AM when you understeer, hold down the clutch, rev up to 8, hold it then let go of clutch.... if that doesnt get rid of your understeer, i dont know what will. hahahahaha SR20DETpower 02-04-2004, 10:07 AM LMFAO, or just yank on the ebrake real quick into a turn. musicsurfman 02-04-2004, 10:56 AM Just Increase Rear Stiffness And Rear Traction To Increase Steering Dynamics Towards Oversteer. You Can Also Decrease Front Stiffness Or Use A Lsd And Get The Same Results. Caster, Camber, And Toe Also Effect Steering Bias. RB25240kouki 02-04-2004, 05:55 PM In the Drift Bible, Tsuchiya tells you to use the e-brake, "there was a time I couldnt drift without it". But also warns that if possible you shouldnt use it all of the time. catchkun 01-20-2005, 09:26 PM you can be extra cheap like me and over inflate your rear tires. it makes the total rate of the rear higher and also makes your contact patch smaller. I do not recomend going over the tires rated max. XeVeNskyLiNE 01-20-2005, 09:42 PM and i do not recommend bringing back year old threads travis712 01-20-2005, 10:10 PM what the? not a very good start on the forums man.. sRscooby 01-21-2005, 11:15 AM ya it is a good start, at least it proves he's reading the forums and learning logik23 01-21-2005, 04:16 PM I say it's not a good start since he's blind to the obvious. Hit_N_Run-player 01-21-2005, 05:41 PM i wish a lock thing would go on the threads over a couple months old, read em, but dont post in somehting this old.. SR20DETpower 01-21-2005, 06:52 PM and i do not recommend bringing back year old threads and who the fuck are you? man you guys are idiots, you do realize this is a forum right? you do know what a forum is don't you? then quit your bitching and support the forum with conversations, new or added material onto old threads, whats the big deal... and he did add useful information to the thread, exactly what he is supposed to do. Also reviving the thread brings it back up to the top so some noobs who missed out might see it now..... :loser: XeVeNskyLiNE 01-21-2005, 06:57 PM doesn't really do any good if the guy who originally started this thread doesnt even post here anymore does it? i agree it might help out some newb, but thats why god made a search button. so don't jump on my ass about it my name is Will, now who the fuck are you? SR20DETpower 01-21-2005, 07:00 PM Im todd and I think yelling at people for posting in a forum is absurd and totally useless. haha yeah do a search here for drifting and see how many threads come up, big waiste of time..much easier to see threads on the first main page. Who cares if the guy who started the thread doesn't post here anymore, hes only about 2% of the members on here who gains information or enjoys reading the thread. XeVeNskyLiNE 01-21-2005, 07:09 PM i didnt yell or anything, considering its kinda impossible to yell over the internet. that guy has 113 some odd posts, so he looked like someone who frequently posts. but i agree with you on some things, while there is alot useful stuff on here, alot of other stuff is a waste of space. i've noticed this is a really hostile forum man, we all just needa get along and make some smore's or something. publicenemy137 01-22-2005, 12:43 AM SR20DET is a hostile man Chuki_breath 01-22-2005, 06:51 PM well lets see here, i beleive you started the yelling, skyline did nothing but recommend!!!!! wow read the obvious plz. THis kid has emotional problems...looks like someone forgot what pussy smells and feels like. Go away for a bit, get laid then come back to the forums bud. Its ok she wont bite. You just got to let it hang out sometimes ya know. OK guys soon there will be a new and refreshed sr20detpower. see ya then.
