Vibration underload in overdrive?

I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything.

I have a '97 Suburban with around 80k miles on it. I am experiencing a vibration when the transmission has shifted into overdrive, and there is some load (such as a slight incline). The vibration gets worse as you apply throttle, until the transmission downshifts, then the vibration ceases. I will be towing with the vehicle in the near future and need to get this worked out before I put a much more significant load on the tranny than what's induced by a slight incline.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Re: Vibration underload in overdrive?

first off, you should NEVER EVER EVER tow in overdrive, unless you enjoy buying transimissions.... that said, steep inclines are also times when you should pull it out of overdrive. if the inclines are really small and its vibrating like that, you may have something wrong with the torque converter. im not an expert on trannys, so you may wanna just ask around to your local shops. get a few opninions, dont just take one guys word for whats wrong.
