Aftermarket brakes for 99 Tahoe 4wd

After suffering with inferior braking performance out of my 99 Tahoe 2dr, I'm ready to drop more money into the pile to get a better feel out of the pedal and subsequently better braking performance.

I went through the system last year and upgraded to slotted rotors up front with extreme duty pads, new power brake booster and replaced shoes and serviced drums out back. There was basically no improvement other than the fact that the vented rotors seem to be keeping the rotors from warping.

I've been doing a little bit of research and it looks like the Stillen Statix systems may offer something of value in the redesigned calliper, but beyond that, I'm not so sure that upgrading the rears to disks and chaning out the front setup to something of equal diameter will really be of any help. Has anyone had any experience with any of the aftermarket complete kits seen a measurable difference? Towing a 4500lb boat during the summer puts the binders to the test despite a decent surge brake setup on the trailer.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard great things about the Statix kit. Our stock calipers like to flex under braking, giving us that spongy feel in the pedal and limiting braking power to the elastic level of the caliper.. The Statix caliper eliminates this problem, and increases performance.. If I could afford new brakes I'd go with the Statix in front, Rear Disc conversion in rear, and stainless steel lines all around.. Can't get much better than that with a stock sized wheel...

Thanks for the response. I spoke with a staff member at Truckin Magazine who has the statix kit on the front of his lifted 1500 with 33s and he likes the mod. Now if I can speak with someone regarding the "firm feel" master cylinder and the read disk conversion, I might be sold enough to drop some $$ on the whole schabang.
